Marriage dissolution, child support, spousal support, property division, domestic violence restraining orders and paternity issues are just some of the issues that encompasses family law.
Many family law issues are used a preemptive measures to decrease future protracted litigation. For example, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are often advised to help reduce that chance of misunderstandings in the event of a divorce. Although some parties do not like discussing divorce before they have even married, it is often the most prudent thing to do.
